CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Charleston man is in jail after allegedly enticing a 13-year-old girl into a sexual relationship via the Facebook website.
West Virginia State Police arrested Ethan Tyler Stone, 23, of Kanawha Boulevard on Tuesday after an investigation by the agency's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to a criminal complaint on file in Kanawha County Magistrate Court, Stone befriended the 13-year-old on Facebook, and the two began texting and calling each other on the telephone. Stone then talked the girl into meeting him in person, the complaint says.
The girl told police that she sneaked out of her house on Aug. 31 and agreed to meet Stone near Spring Hill Bakery in South Charleston, according to the complaint. She then got into Stone's van and was driven to an apartment complex off Roxalana Road in Dunbar.
Stone and the girl then got in the back of the van, where Stone unhooked the girl's bra and touched her, according to the complaint.
Stone is charged with one felony count of soliciting a minor via computer and one felony count of enticing the girl away from her home. He also is charged with three counts of third-degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor, as well as a misdemeanor count of obstructing police officers.
He was being held Wednesday in the South Central Regional Jail on $60,000 bail.
